Press Hub exposes generative AI to users, so this page states plainly where it is used, what it is given, what it can never do, and who is responsible for the output.

Where is AI used in the product?
- The planner — a conversational surface that proposes what to announce, to which segments, and in what order.
- Release drafting — assistance writing and revising press-release copy.
- Campaign copy — subject-line and body suggestions in the composer.
- You are told you are interacting with a model at each of these surfaces, and each output is a draft presented for review rather than an action taken.

What is the model actually given?
Counts, vocabulary and outlet identity. Never a journalist’s name, never a contact role, never an email address. This is the single most important property of the design: the model chooses filters, and the database returns people.
Two things follow. The assistant cannot invent an audience — a number it quotes came from the same counting function the composer shows at send time — and no journalist’s identity leaves the system for a model provider. The read tools are written so that this is checkable by reading one file rather than by trusting a policy.

Which model, and where does my text go?
Model calls are routed through the Vercel AI Gateway, which currently serves DeepSeek models. There is deliberately no direct-provider path, so the model in use is a configuration value rather than a dependency.
What does reach the provider is what you type and the documents you ask it to work on — your announcement, your release copy, your campaign text. If that is commercially sensitive before publication, treat these features accordingly. The specific provider terms and international-transfer basis are part of the vendor register that is still outstanding.

Can the assistant send anything?
No. No tool available to it writes a recipient row, moves a campaign out of draft, verifies a sender, or touches the suppression list. Preflight is still the only gate and an operator still presses the button.
Where a model would be slower and less reliable than arithmetic, it is not used at all: the composer prices its narrowings with direct counting queries and no model call.

Who is responsible for what a model drafted?
The person who sends it. Model output here is editorial input to a human process — every draft is reviewed and edited before it becomes a release or a campaign, and nothing is published or transmitted without that step. That is the position Press Hub takes on labelling obligations for AI-generated content, and it is one of the points on which counsel review is still outstanding.
No automated decision producing a legal or similarly significant effect on a person is made anywhere in the product.
